Bre Stats Offline Utility
Bre Stats is a very user friendly mouse driven program. It is designed
to allow players in Baron Realms Elite Leagues to read the League's
score files offline. This allows the user to spend their online time
playing the game instead of scrolling through all the score files trying
to find Empires to attack or form treaties with. Bre Stats will also
handle all the calculations when adding up your attack and defense
strength. It will also keep track of how many commanders and carriers
you need for your Empire. You can even enter in information about other
Empires and get an instant report comparing your Empire to theirs.
Bre Stats will also keep a 14 day history of all Empires activities in
the League. This allows you to quickly find Empires that are on the
rise or thoses that are possibly in trouble. When you register Bre
Stats you will be able to view graphs on Empires activities and be able
backup your files. You will also be able to view spy information created
by Bre Stats (Door) version.
When you run Bre Stats the first screen you will see is the main menu.
To make it as simple as possible to use, the same keyboard commands and
mouse commands that are used by Windows have been incorporated into
Bre Stats. So most people will be familiar on how to move around the
screens.
Everything is pretty straight forward and so simple to use you really
don't need to read anything in order to run the program. However, I
have included some hints on how to use Bre Stats to your advantage.
Hints on Using Bre Stats to Your Advantage!!
--------------------------------------------
Backup your score files ONCE per download ONLY!! When you backup your
score files what happens is all the current score files which have the
ext. *.TXT are renamed to *.001. If you backup the same *.TXT files
again it will make a duplicate copy of *.TXT and name it *.002.
If you did this again you would then have the same score files showing
on Backup 1, 2, and 3.
To make sure you don't go wrong follow these steps below:
Download updated score files.
Unarchive the updated score files into the Bre Stats directory(s).
Run Bre Stats and Backup Todays Scores.
***REMEMBER DO THIS ONLY ONCE A DAY.***
If you do get into a mess you can start fresh by deleting all
*.001-*.014 files.
Below is how the backup files and days correspond to one another.
Current = *.TXT
Backup 001 = *.001
Backup 002 = *.002
Backup 003 = *.003
Backup 004 = *.004
Backup 005 = *.005
Backup 006 = *.006
Backup 007 = *.007
Backup 008 = *.008
Backup 009 = *.009
Backup 010 = *.010
Backup 011 = *.011
Backup 012 = *.012
Backup 013 = *.013
Backup 014 = *.014
You can Force a Backup. The reason you might want to do this is if you
got online and played a few turns in the morning and downloaded the
score files, then later that afternoon or evening you got back online
and finished your turns. You can then download a new set of score files
in the same day and run the backup process. If you unarchived the new
set of score files and Forced a Backup then "Backup 001" would become
the mornings score files and "Current" would be the current ones.
If you play in several different Baron Realms Elite Leagues then set
the directory paths for each league through the menu option. This creates
A file "LEAGUES.CFG" this file contains the path of the league files
on one line and the name of the league on the next. Six leagues are
supported. This file is contained in the directory path of your Bre Stats
program.
You can backup files from the menus or you can specify the league(s) via
a command line switch. Enter "BRESTATS /B:0" at DOS to backup all leages
and exit. This is useful if you wish to backup automatically.
The default league # when Bre Stats is loaded is always league #1.
You can switch back and forth between leagues by choosing the league
number from the menu option "VIEW LEAGUE #" in the "FILE" menu.
To use the Military Stats Screen obtain all the information you need
from the Spy Database while online or view the spy data from the spy
data viewer menu option of the program. This viewer will display spy
information created by Bre Stats (Door) version.
If you run Windows or another Multi-tasking program you can run Bre
Stats in the background while online. Doing this makes it quick and
easy to tell where you and others stand.
Please read SETUP.DOC and SYSOP.DOC for instructions on how to set up
and download score files.
